Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars Release 'Die With a Smile'

I've never seen Gaga shine like she does here. The video is masterfully shot, enhancing the song in every way possible. Not that the song needed a lift, but now I can't imagine listening to it without seeing Gaga dancing with a cigarette. This is a different kind of ballad—it taps into a positive feeling, which is much harder to achieve in this format. I'm not the biggest fan of Bruno Mars, but after this song and video, I finally get it. He is gorgeous, with some Prince vibes, but in his own way.

I'm ready for LG7 and 'Joker: folie à deux''s soundtrack, both around the corner. When I heard the rumor about the song, I didn't know what to think about this collaboration. Bruno Mars is incredibly talented, but was he a match? Then the rumor became reality with some snippets and short instrumentals shared on X. After hearing their voices fuse and their radiant energy blast in the video, providing such an original performance and visuals, I applaud the detour. This song serves as a prelude to the upcoming wave of Gaga-ness that is about to hit us.

Is there anything more impressive than the blonde updo of Gaga? She looks like she came from the Joker set, or maybe she borrowed the whole set and switched some stuff around. When she looks at the camera and enters the song with that melodic vocalization, I immediately felt relaxed. All the worries about what the next project could bring vanished under her unstoppable talent. At this point, we shouldn't bet against Gaga—forget James Cameron. Since 'Just Dance,' with a couple of projects that were more growers than instant hits, Gaga always delivers. She is, after all, my favorite musician and artist, and I am a little biased, but her talent can't be denied, even by the biggest haters at this point—she made sure of that.

Slowly, she carved a way to connect with the dinosaurs in the industry. Collaborations and live performances by artists like The Rolling Stones, U2, Sting, Elton John, Yoko Ono, Metallica, Stevie Wonder, and Tony Bennett speak volumes. And this song is ongoing proof of her versatility and vision, aiming for a bigger audience. It very much reminds me of 'Shallow' and the reach that song has. This is a wedding song, a celebration of any kind, an eternal hymn for relationships—a great love song. With that video, it could easily inspire a Halloween duo look. Who are you going to be this year? Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, or Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix? I will choose after 'Joker: folie à deux' hits the theaters. Until then, we have this beautiful melody and these giants performing for us, reminding us of how extraordinary our relationships with the people we love and cherish are.
